GOLF
You can play golf on Golspie Golf Course, as a guest staying at Granite Villa Guest House you will receive a substantial discount against the standard cost of a ticket (applies to single rounds, daily tickets and weekly tickets.)

Within easy driving distance (20 minutes or less) there are also the courses at Royal Dornoch, Brora, Helmsdale and Bonar Bridge (9 Hole).

FISHING
Fishing for salmon and trout on various local lochs and rivers, is available subject to obtaining the relevent permits.

MOUNTAIN BIKING
A new network of mountain biking routes is currently being established on Ben Bhraggie, which is scheduled for completion in 2006.

WALKING
For those keen on walking the area around Golspie provides numerous options with regards routes to walk. Golspie community council produce a booklet "Golspie Walks" which details route, distance, time required and degree of difficulty for 11 different walks within the vicinity of Golspie. The shortest of which is the one and a half mile walk to the Big Burn and back. The Big Burn is acknowledged to be one of the best walks in Europe. The longest is the six-mile coastal route to Brora.

Paths around Tain, Paths around Morangie and Paths around Caithness and Sutherland are other publications, produced by Highland Council, that provide you with information that you might find interesting while at the same time providing details as to distance, accessibility for walkers with restricted mobility and other useful information regarding the walks that they cover.

GOLD MINING
You can try planning for gold at Kildonnan, equipment with instructions are available for hire from Strath Ullie Crafts, the visitor information centre, down by the harbour in Helmsdale.
